When the designers of Adidas started looking for inspiration for a special edition Stan Smith golf shoe to commemorate the Ryder Cup, they didn’t have to look far. As one of the leading dairy producers in the United States, the Whistling Strait home state of Wisconsin has no shortage of cows and dairy farms. The team designed a waterproof version of the Stan Smith golf shoe with a cow print on the midsole and a pink outsole. Here are the adidas Ryder Cup-inspired golf shoes that will be available today (September 20) at adidas.com.

The shoe will cost $ 120 and should sell out quickly. Unlike previous versions of the Stan Smith, this shoe is not covered in kiltie lace, a smart choice to allow the cow print to shine without distraction. In addition to the cow theme, there is a unique cow “approval” label on the tongue and fictitious “Dairyland Golf Club” logos on the sockliner.
Adidas released the first Stan Smith golf shoe in April ahead of the Masters in a bold green colourway with a removable white kiltie. The brand used the launch to also promote its Primegreen initiative, pledging to use recycled materials on all Stan Smith golf shoes where possible. The release was followed soon after with a waterproof version of the shoe in a simple design, a bit more true to the original look of the Stan Smith street shoe. The predominantly white shoe had green detailing on the heel and the traction covered sole. The Ryder Cup Cow Print Special Edition is the third iteration of the golf shoe, with more to come.
