The iconic Stan Smith sneaker is upgraded this year, and to celebrate the development of this classic silhouette – which has transcended sport and style, Adidas introduces a limited edition Stan Smith Golf version “to give golfers a versatile and more durable model with the ability to show off their style on the course.
The Stan Smith Spikeless Golf Shoe features an upper made from “high performance recycled materials,” or what Adidas calls PRIMEGREEN.
The distinct green color of his new golf shoe is apparently a nod to his efforts with sustainability and a ‘journey to end plastic waste’. But the color also happens to be associated with a certain major golf tournament in April, when Adidas launches its new golf kicks, with the winner of the Masters 2020 headlining. Dustin Johnson like the pitchman.
In addition to its environmental benefits, the Stan Smith Golf version includes the following technology and features:
- Adiwear spikeless rubber outsole with traction inspired by the shoe’s original sole design: the small studs will give golfers traction when they need it, but the versatility to wear the shoe anywhere.
- Cutout PU sockliner and additional PU padding in the midsole provide golf-specific support with every step.
- Removable white kiltie which houses a gold colored ball marker with its Trefoil logo gives the well-known model distinctive features to take the style even further on the course.
- Packed in the traditional Blue Originals Shoe Box, it will also contain a Commemorative dust bag to help keep shoes fresh round after round.
The shoes will be available on adidas.com, through the Adidas app and in select retail stores around the world starting today, Wednesday April 7.
