For the past 76 seasons, the most played shoes on the PGA Tour have been FootJoy. With a range of offerings that includes the classic-looking Premiere Series, the athletic HyperFlex and the do-it-all FootJoy Pro/SL, this streak is going to be hard to stop. Many golfers on the LPGA Tour also wear FootJoy.
For 2022, FootJoy offers a new shoe for men and women, the Fuel, which combines traction elements with comfort technologies and sporty sneaker styling. Will Zalatoris, Max Homa and new FootJoy recruit Jessica Korda will wear the Fuel regularly in 2022.
With a rounded toe and full fit across the forefoot and instep, the Fuel was designed to be comfortable right out of the box and a shoe golfers can walk in all day. To complement this shape, FootJoy added a new compound called StratoLite foam in the midsole to provide extra lightweight cushioning.
To make sure your feet don’t slip, FootJoy designed the Fuel with dozens of little traction elements in the sole and a piece called the Power Stabilizer in the forefoot. Power stabilizer extends slightly beyond the outside of the shaft to provide a more stable platform for your swing
The Fuel has a waterproof synthetic leather upper and the shoes come with a one-year waterproof warranty.
The women’s version of the Fuel has all the features and technologies designed in the men’s shoe, but they are designed to adapt to the shape of a woman’s foot.
The men’s and women’s Fuel are available in a lace-up version as well as a version with the laceless BOA system which allows golfers to turn a small dial behind their heel to tighten the shoe and create a custom fit.
