The Lost Woods golf course and pub in Theodosia has changed hands and five couples now own the business in a joint effort.
The new owners are Tom and Christene Reinbold, Sharon and Greg Nagel, Brandi and Matt Shockey, Nancy and Bill Rauch and Debi and Bill Agee. The band purchased Lost Woods from former owners Joe Edwards and Sharon Brown.
“The community and new ownership team would like to thank Joe Edwards and Sharon Brown for their timeless efforts in making Lost Woods what it has become to this day. We are honored, blessed and look forward to continuing the momentum on their behalf to bring the community together and provide a family environment for all,” the owners said in a press release about the transaction. “Come see us. We look forward to meeting you all and sharing our vision for creating the most family-friendly environment in the Ozarks!”
The golf course, located at 131 Lost Woods Drive in Theodosia, was built in 1992 and offers a 9-hole course with a challenging dogleg layout, narrow fairways, ponds, rolling forests and rolling hills. A driving range and a training green are also available for those who wish to spend some time perfecting their skills. The on-site clubhouse offers golf cart rentals, clubs, and shooting balls.
The Lost Woods Golf Course is the course of the Lutie High School Golf Team. It also hosts several outings and community golf tournaments throughout the season.
The organizers say there is an opportunity to meet new people by participating in one of the golf leagues offered by the resort. All leagues are drawn for teams and the game is a best ball format. Registration is on league day and all skill levels are welcome.
A men’s league is offered at 5 p.m. on Tuesdays and a women’s league is offered at 9 a.m. on Thursdays. The owners explain that the women’s teams are divided with the availability of a seasoned golfer assigned to each group to offer suggestions, if interested, to the players’ best plays. A couples league is offered at 3:30 p.m. on Sundays.
Disc golf, pickleball, petanque, sand volleyball and corn hole
Lost Woods offers disc golf with an 18-basket course. For six years, Lost Woods Golf Course has hosted the top tournaments of the Disc Golf Monkeys Professional Disc Golf Association (PDGA). For beginners who want to try disc golf, disc rentals are available.
Four new pickleball courts will open in July with lessons available and leagues to participate in. The owners also plan for the upcoming opening of bocce ball, sand volleyball and corn hole, providing the community with a variety of activities for all ages and skill levels.
Pub and event venue
The Lost Woods Pub located inside the clubhouse offers golfers and other patrons a menu that includes a menu offering wings and pizza, as well as daily specials. Soft drinks, beer and a full bar are available.
Those looking for a venue to hold a meeting can consider the Lost Ballroom, which can be rented and can accommodate up to 100 people with catering available.
